【摘要】:ThisStandardspecifiesamethodfordeterminingthenon-volatile-mattercontentbymassofpaints,varnishes,bindersforpaintsandvarnishes(hereafterreferredtoas"binders"),polymerdispersionsandcondensationresinssuchasphenolicresins(resols,novolaksolutions,etc.).Themethodisalsoapplicabletoformulateddispersionscontainingfillers,pigmentsandotherauxiliaries(e.g.thickenersandfilm-formingagents).Forthemethodtobeusableforunplasticizedpolymerdispersionsandrubberlatices,thenon-volatileresidue(whichconsistsessentiallyofthepolymericmaterialandofsmallquantitiesofauxil-iariessuchasemulsifiers,protectivecolloids,stabilizers,solventsaddedasfilm-formingagentsand--especiallyforrubberlatexconcentrate--preservingagents)hastobechemicallystableunderthetestconditions.Forplasticizedsamples,theresidue,bydefinition,normallyincludestheplasticizer.NOTEIThenon-volatile-mattercontentofaproductisnotanabsolutequan-titybutdependsuponthetemperatureandperiodofheatingusedforthedetermination.Consequently,whenusingthismethod,onlyrela-tiveandnottruevaluesofthenon-volatile-mattercontentareobtainedowingtosolventretention,thermaldecompositionandevaporationoflow-molecular-massconstituents.Themethodisthereforeprimarilyin-tendedfortestingdifferentbatchesofthesametypeofproduct.NOTE2Thismethodissuitableforsyntheticrubberlaticesprovidedheatingforaspecificperiodoftimeisconsideredappropriate(JISK6387-2specifiesheatinguntilthelossinmassofa2gtestportionfollowingsuccessiveperiodsofheatingislessthan0.5mg).NOTE3In-housemethodsfordeterminingnon-volatilematteroftenincludedryingwithinfraredormicrowaveradiation.Standardizationofsuchmethodsisnotpossible,sincetheyarenotgenerallyapplicable.Somepolymercompositionstendtodecomposeduringsuchtreatmentandthereforegiveincorrectresults.NOTE4ISO3233:1998,Paintsandvarnishes--Determinationofpercentagevol-umeofnon-volatilematterbymeasuringthedensityofadriedcoating,specifiesamethodfordeterminingthevolumeofnon-volatilematterinpaints,varnishesandrelatedproducts.NOTE5TheInternationalStandardcorrespondingtothisStandardisasfol-lows.ISO3251:2003Paints,varnishesandplastics--Determinationofnon-volatile-mattercontent(MOD)Inaddition,symbolswhichdenotethedegreeofcorrespondenceinthecontentsbetweentherelevantInternationalStandardandJI$areIDT(identical),MOD(modified),andNEQ(notequivalent)accordingtoISO/IECGuide21.
