【摘要】:Uraniumhexafluorideisabasicmaterialusedtopreparenuclearreactorfuel.Tobesuitableforthispurpose,thematerialmustmeetthecriteriaforisotopiccomposition.ThistestmethodisdesignedtodeterminewhetherthematerialmeetstherequirementsdescribedinSpecificationsC787andC996.ASTMCommitteeC-26SafeguardsStatement:5.2.1Thematerial(uraniumhexafluoride)towhichthistestmethodappliesissubjecttothenuclearsafeguardsregulationsgoverningitspossessionanduse.Theanalyticalprocedureinthistestmethodhasbeendesignatedastechnicallyacceptableforgeneratingsafeguardsaccountabilitydata.5.2.2Whenusedinconjunctionwithappropriatecertifiedreferencematerials(CRMs),thisprocedurecandemonstratetraceabilitytothenationalmeasurementbase.However,adherencetothisproceduredoesnotautomaticallyguaranteeregulatoryacceptanceoftheregulatorysafeguardsmeasurements.Itremainsthesoleresponsibilityoftheuserofthistestmethodtoensurethatitsapplicationtosafeguardshastheapprovaloftheproperregulatoryauthorities.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheisotopicanalysisofuraniumhexafluoride(UF6)andmaybeusedfortheentirerangeof235Uisotopiccompositionsforwhichstandardsareavailable.1.2ThistestmethodisapplicabletothedeterminationoftheisotopicrelationshipbetweentwoUF6samples.Iftheabundanceofaspecificisotopeofonesample(thestandard)isknown,itsabundanceintheothercanbedetermined.Thistestmethodisflexibleinthatthenumberoftimesagivenmaterialisadmittedtotheionsourcemaybeadjustedtotheminimumrequiredforaspecifiedprecisionlevel.1.3Thesensitivitywithwhichdifferencesbetweentwomaterialscanbedetecteddependsonthemeasuringsystemused,butratio-measuringdevicescangenerallyreadratio-of-molratiodifferencesassmallas0.0001.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecifichazardsstatementsaregiveninSection7.

【摘要】:Knowledgeoftheultraviolettransmittanceofmonoethyleneglycolisrequiredtoestablishwhethertheproductmeetstherequirementsofitsqualityspecifications.Dissolvedoxygeninorganicsolvents,suchasMEG,formscomplexesthatshiftthesolventabsorptionfromthevacuumultravioletrangeintothemeasurableUVrange(near190to250nm).MonoethyleneglycolhasaUVabsorptionpeakat180nm.ForMEG-oxygencomplexes,thispeakisshiftedtoalongerwavelength,thusincreasingtheabsorbabilityat220nm.However,thiseffectisnotobservedinwater.Thereisnosignificantmeasurableeffectduetodissolvedoxygeninwaterthatwouldrequirenitrogenspargingpriortousingforcollectionofthereferencespectrum.Nitrogenspargingandre-measurementofsuspectorborderlineglycolsamplesat220nmcanbeusedasatooltoruleoutorconfirmthepresenceofUVaffectingcontaminantsotherthanoxygen.1.1Thistestmethodcoversaprocedureforthedeterminationofthetransmittanceofmonoethyleneglycol(1,2-ethanediol;MEG)atwavelengthsintheregion220to350nm.Theresultsprovideameasureofthepurityofthesamplewithrespecttoultravioletabsorbingcompounds.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.4ReviewthecurrentMaterialSafetyDataSheets(MSDS)fordetailedinformationconcerningtoxicity,firstaidprocedures,andsafetyprecautions.
