【摘要】:Thesetestmethodsweredevelopedtomeasurethetypesandamountsofaromaticsinmineralspiritstodeterminecompliancewithairpollutionregulationsthatrestrictthearomaticcontentofsolvents.Theyhavebeendemonstratedtobeworkableandtoproduceaccurateresults.However,duetothesensitivityoftheteststooperatingvariables,somelaboratorieshavinglimitedexperiencewithgaschromatographicanalysesofhydrocarbonsmayexperiencedifficultyinperformingthetests.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverthedeterminationofethylbenzeneandtotaleight-carbon(C8)andheavieraromaticsintheconcentrationrangefrom0.1to30%inmineralspiritshavingadistillationrangefrom149to210176;C(300to410176;F)asdeterminedbyTestMethodD86.Theprocedurespermittheidentificationandcalculationofconcentrationsofaromaticcomponentsto0.1volume%.1.2Itisrecognizedbyanalyticalchemiststhatasinglecolumngaschromatographyanalysisofanunknownsampleisrisky.Insuchcases,multipleanddifferentanalyticaltechniquesmustbeusedforabsolutelypositiveidentification,forexample,severaldifferentgaschromatographycolumns,gaschromatography/massspectrometer,orgaschromatography/infrared,etc.Inthesetestmethodsthematerialisknownandisclearlydefined.1.3Oxygenatedcompounds,ifpresent,mayinterfereandcauseerroneousresults.Suchoxygenatedcompoundsarenotnormallypresentinmineralspirits.1.4Threetestmethodsarecoveredasfollows:1.4.1TestMethodAmeasurementofethylbenzenecontent,C8plushigheraromatics(exceptethylbenzene),andtotalaromaticsbymeansofasinglepackedcolumngaschromatographicanalysis.1.4.2TestMethodBmeasurementofethylbenzenecontentbymeansofarapidpackedcolumngaschromatographicanalysis.1.4.3TestMethodCmeasurementofethylbenzenecontent,C8plushigheraromatics(exceptethylbenzene)andtotalaromaticsbymeansofacapillarycolumngaschromatographicanalysis.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.6Forpurposesofdeterminingconformanceofanobservedoracalculatedvalueusingthistestmethodtorelevantspecifications,testresult(s)shallberoundedoff"tothenearestunit"inthelastright-handdigitusedinexpressingthespecificationlimit,inaccordancewiththerounding-offmethodofPracticeE29.1.7Forhazardinformationandguidance,seethesupplier''sMaterialSafetyDataSheet.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
